Hurricane Sandy

The Salvation Army says it served 5.6 million hot meals to survivors and first responders following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.   Just imagine what the need is in the extensive and heavily populated area hit by Sandy.  While the winds were still howling, the Kentucky Colonels wrote a check for $30,000 to assist in the effort.  THANKS to all who responded to our email announcement with special contributions!  We heard from most states plus Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom. That amount of money, by the way, will pay for running ten mobile feeding units providing hot meals for a period of six days.
