Thanks to your contributions, the Honorable Order granted over $3 million in 2023 to various organizations across the Commonwealth. As an organization of individuals committed to making a difference, we understand that giving back goes beyond financial support; it also involves volunteering. With this in mind, we extend an invitation to all Colonels and their families to join us in volunteering alongside Good Works Program grantees throughout the state and several national nonprofit organizations to assist with essential projects. We encourage you to participate in volunteer activities alongside your fellow Colonels at one of the locations below.
 
Kentucky Volunteer Sites:
  • Hope’s Place (Ashland) – Colonels will paint doors and a hallway. 
  • CASA of South Central Kentucky (Bowling Green) – Colonels will help with landscaping and painting both inside and outside (weather permitting).
  • Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky (Covington) – Colonels will sort and organize donations, help clean facility, do laundry, make beds, and help prep for the evening meal.
  • Mission Hope for Kids (Elizabethtown) – Colonels will clean and organize classrooms, bathrooms, cafeteria, boutique, playground and vans.
  • Project Learn, Inc. (Elizabethtown) – Colonels will paint doors and a small bathroom. – SITE FULL
  • Bluegrass Youth Ballet (Lexington) – Colonels will help organize costume room.
  • Explorium of Lexington (Lexington) – Colonels will be painting stools for the museum.
  • Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Service Center (Lexington) – Colonels will assemble camp staff manuals.
  • God’s Pantry Food Bank (Lexington) – Colonels will assemble food boxes with an assortment of nonperishable food items.
  • Lexington History Museum (Lexington) – Colonels will help with display cleaning and organizing. – SITE FULL
  • Lighthouse Ministries (Lexington) –Colonels will help prepare lunch and organize pantry.
  • Highlands Housing Corporation (London) – Colonels will help paint homes.
  • AMPED Louisville (Greenwood Ave, Louisville) – Colonels will paint studio space.
  • AMPED Louisville (Jefferson St, Louisville) – Colonels will organize media room.
  • ChooseWell Communities (Louisville) – Colonels will assist with moving items as they repurpose rooms and deep clean play area. – SITE FULL
  • Nazareth Homes Foundation (Louisville) – Colonels will help clean storage units and visit with residents.
  • Talbot House (Louisville) – Colonels will help with spring cleaning in the three houses.
  • Owensboro Area Shelter Information & Services (Owensboro) – Colonels will help clean, stock, and prepare commercial kitchen; clean and prepare bedrooms; and possibly help with yard maintenance (weather permitting).
  • Lifeline Recovery Center (Paducah) – Colonels will help with painting the new women’s campus. – SITE FULL
  • Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center (Paducah) – Colonels will put together packets of personal care items for their clients.
  • New Hope Family Ministries (Radcliff) – Colonels deep clean classrooms and other areas, organize a room, repair broken items, and mop floors.
  • Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Camp Judy Layne (Wellington) – Colonels will clean and sanitize cabins, including dusting, vacuuming, wiping down mattresses, and sanitizing bathrooms.
Out-of-State Chapter Sites:
  • Atlanta Chapter (Marietta, GA)* – Colonels will be packing material and supplies that will be shipped to military personal who are deployed overseas at Project Mail Call. For additional information, contact Colonel Thomas Smith at tls49@hotmail.com.
  • Northeast Georgia Kentucky Colonels Chapter (McCaysville, GA) – The chapter will host a Pancake Breakfast at McCay Lodge in McCaysville, GA, for $10 a plate. For additional information, contact Colonel Richard Tanner at NGKColonels@gmail.com.
  • Hoosier Chapter (Indianapolis, IN)* – Colonels will volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry. For additional information, contact Colonel Mike Magdycz at hokcindychapter@gmail.com.
  • Southeastern Ohio Kentucky Colonels Chapter (Jackson, OH) – Colonels will help the Middle School & High School Stock the Pantry. For additional information, contact Colonel Wilbur McCormick at mcgrizzly43@gmail.com.
