2020 Good Works Program Grant Information
To access the online grant system or check on the status of an existing application please click here. The 2020 Grant Cycle updates are listed below for applications currently being reviewed.
We are allocating additional funding for emergency grants for organizations who are working to help situations that were caused by COVID-19. While we value all the worthy nonprofits in the Commonwealth that enrich their communities, the Board of Trustees has decided to help grantees that predominately work with the following categories:
- Food pantries
- Abuse centers
- Homeless shelters
- Senior facilities in rural communities
- Veteran groups that provide front line services
- Centers for disabled
- Animal care and rescue groups
If your organization has an emergency need, due to the current circumstances, and you fall within the categories above, please check here for Emergency Grant Guidelines. You must reach out to the Kentucky Colonels’ staff to discuss your organization’s emergency need before you will receive access to the application and requests must stay within our funding guidelines. Please be considerate to other organizations who may also have emergency needs during this time and limit your requests to items that are truly needed.
Applications will open on May 13, 2020 and will remain open through the end of 2020, depending on the funds available.

January 2, 2020 Request for LOI opens and application submission begins
February 14, 2020 Applications due
Mid-May 2020 Notification of award
July 13, 2020 All purchases complete and end of project reports due online

*Organizations with outstanding grant commitments from the Kentucky Colonels will not be eligible to apply for the current funding cycle until their previous grant file has been closed.
