Day of Service

Kentucky Colonels Spring Day of Service
Saturday, April 15, 2023
9:00am - 12:00pm

Through your contributions, the Honorable Order granted over $3 million in 2022 to 314 organizations throughout the Commonwealth.  As an organization of individuals who are dedicated to making an impact in their community, we know that giving back means more than just giving monetarily; it also means volunteering.  With this in mind, we invite all Colonels and their families to join us in volunteering with Good Works Program grantees across the state to complete necessary projects.  We welcome you to volunteer with your fellow Colonels at one of the sites below.

Service sites and projects include:

  • Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center (Bowling Green) – Colonels will assist with spring maintenance of the facility, including, but not limited to, painting, landscaping, cleaning toys, sorting bears, and making resource packets. Colonels are encouraged to bring landscaping equipment like shovels, rakes, and a pressure washer.
  • GO Pantry (Florence) Colonels will assist with labeling GO boxes, date checking and sorting food donations, or packing GO bags and/or boxes. Additional specifics will be shared closer to the date. PLEASE NOTE the shift for this site is 9am – 11am.
  • The CARE Closet (Newport)  Colonels will assist with sorting and organizing.
  • Mission Hope for Kids, Inc. (Elizabethtown) – Colonels will assist with Spring cleaning of the facility, sorting and organizing the boutique store, preparing bags, and other tasks as time permits.
