Fall Day of Service Wrap Up

On October 2, 2021, fifty-one (51) Colonels, along with their friends and family, joined HOKC for the 5th Annual Kentucky Colonels Day of Service. Colonels volunteered their time at six 2021 Good Works Program grantee recipients in five cities throughout the Commonwealth donating 153 hours of their time on a Saturday morning!

In Covington, Colonels helped organize donations in a storage area at Welcome House of Northern Kentucky. In Lexington, Colonels were at Arbor Youth Services cleaning and organizing their attic, kitchen, bedrooms, and storage areas. There were two sites in Louisville: Choices and Neighborhood House. At Choices, Colonels organized a storage unit and resurfaced sidewalks, and at Neighborhood House, Colonels painted hallways and put together large cabinets. In Owensboro, Colonels disassembled a shed and did some outdoor painting at St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter. In Richmond, Colonels volunteered at Kentucky Foothills Therapeutic Horsemanship Center, completing two portions of an agility course and assisting with the therapeutic riding program.

Thank you to all our Colonels who joined HOKC at these sites and made this Day of Service a success.   siding
