Among the 160 plus grants issued by the Kentucky Colonels during 2006 was a small one to provide personal care items for low-income individuals in and around David, KY. David is located in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
The Good Works Program will sponsor another “Honor Flight” September 20, 2012. It will be the 5th that members of the Kentucky Colonels have made possible. The Honor Flight Network is a national organization of volunteers who work to transport WWII veterans to Washington, DC and the WWII Memorial. The organization has collectively flown over 62,000 vets to DC as of the end of 2010.
