Colonel Cody Reeder

January 10, 2025

Commissioned in July 2024, Colonel Cody Reeder was nominated to become a Kentucky Colonel in recognition of his commitment to community service and leadership. From Jamestown, KY, Colonel Reeder’s professional career has been defined by his leadership at Houchens Industries, where he served as a store manager from 2019 through early 2024. During his tenure, he transformed his workplace into a hub for community support through facilitating donations to local schools, churches, and other community establishments.

His dedication to leadership became a national story during the COVID-19 pandemic. When local schools cancelled graduation ceremonies, he decided to hold a “graduation ceremony” inside the store for his fellow team members who were graduating seniors to celebrate the milestone.

In late 2023, Colonel Reeder was named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Young Professionals of Lake Cumberland. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding individuals in South Central Kentucky who have excelled either professionally or through civic and/or community engagement or development. Recently, he transitioned into a new professional chapter as a loan officer with United Citizens Bank of Southern Kentucky, where he looks forward to continuing his commitment to community service.

“Being a Kentucky Colonel is a profound honor that represents not only recognition of my past contributions but also a commitment to future service,” says Colonel Reeder. “It embodies a legacy of leadership, integrity, and dedication to the community. For me, it is both an inspiration and a responsibility to continue making a positive impact.”

We are honored to have Colonel Cody Reeder among our ranks as he continues his dedicated work for the people of South Central Kentucky.
