Colonel Lauren Elizabeth Campbell

For Colonel Lauren Elizabeth Campbell, creativity is more than just a passion, it is a way for her to give back. Raised in West Virginia, her connection to Kentucky ties back to her great-grandmother who is from Louisa. Colonel Campbell’s journey has been shaped by her commitment to storytelling, community, and amplifying underrepresented voices. While attending the University of Kentucky, she double majored in Political Science and Media Arts & Studies. Also, during her time at UK, she founded the student organization Creator Cats, an organization designed to give creatives on campus a space to build relationships, share their work, and collaborate on meaningful projects. Through the creation of this student organization that is still active today, she was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to launching Creator Cats, Lauren joined GRAMMY U while at UK, where she began creating connections learning about the music industry. After graduating, she went on to earn her Master of Science in Music Industry from the University of Southern California, where she had the opportunity to work in digital marketing at Rhino Records which is a division of Warner Music Group.
In 2025, Colonel Campbell was invited to join the Recording Academy as a professional member in honor of both her creative contributions and service to the music community. As part of the organization behind the GRAMMY Awards, she now contributes to a national network dedicated to supporting artists’ rights, advancing music education, and promoting industry transparency.Â
Today, Colonel Campbell is a law student at West Virginia University College of Law, and she continues to follow her creative and academic passions. Her legal focus includes intellectual property, entertainment law, and nonprofit advocacy where she plans to continue supporting artists and protecting their work. Becoming a Kentucky Colonel was more than just an honor, it was recognition of the values that have guided her since she attended the University of Kentucky, and she is committed to giving back to the Commonwealth.
